HOW TO FIND US

The main feature of eastern Croatia – Slavonia – are lowland plains with large cultivated areas. From those plains that used to be the seabed of the Pannonian Sea, mountains rise up to almost one thousand meters above sea level. One of those mountains is Papuk – the most beautiful Slavonia’s mountain.

The House of Representatives of the Croatian Parliament passed the Act of Proclamation of Papuk Nature Park on April 23, 1999, due to its exceptional geological and biological diversity and valuable cultural and historical heritage. The activities of Papuk Nature Park are aimed at protecting, preserving and promoting the fundamental natural and cultural values of the Park.

Papuk Nature Park covers the largest part of Papuk, as well as part of Krndija, in the general direction northwest – southeast. It covers an area of 336 km2 (33 600 ha) and is administratively located in two counties, Požega-Slavonia and Virovitica-Podravina. The municipalities and cities located in the area of Papuk Nature Park are:  the municipalities of Kaptol, Velika, Brestovac and the town of Kutjevo in Požega-Slavonia County, and the municipalities of Voćin, Čačinci and the town of Orahovica in Virovitica-Podravina County.

If you want to visit Papuk Nature Park, there are various transportation options and several characteristic entrance stations to the park. You may visit Papuk Nature Park by car, bus, camper, motorcycle, bicycle or on foot. There are three main entrance stations to the park on the north side: Voćin, Slatinski Drenovac and Orahovica. In Virovitica – Podravina County there is brown traffic signaling along the Podravska main road, which directs visitors towards the indicated entrances.
